Glenstal Castle and Abbey in Ireland

Image
This castle is built in the Normanesque style and is near Limerick, Ireland. We visited last November. You can see that the weather and light changes suddenly. Des with the cannon that looks down into the valley. Sunshine one minute and darkness the next. Inside the sanctuary of the Abbey, which is inside the castle grounds   Des at the castle gates.

Ireland in November 2019

Image
Last November we hosted a family birthday celebration for my brother in Cedar City and then ended the month in Ireland for my mother-in-law's funeral, Philomena Penny. It was an overwhelming month, but this November we are self-isolating during an unexpected pandemic. Crazy times, but I have time to sort out photos. Here are a few favorite scenic photos of Ireland from November 2020. We tried to take some walks to help us cope with the sadness of the occasion. Walks along the Shannon River and in Limerick. It gets dark earlier because of the more northern latitude so this is about 4 p.m.  Near a mill that has been converted to a restaurant near Limerick. Limerick is warm enough in November that flowers were still blooming. On the way to the airport from Limerick passing Bunratty Castle:  The sky was pretty gray so this has a bit of enhancement. Flying over Canada and into Boston:

Late Summer and Fall 2020

Summer and fall colors are a favorite. These are pretty random, but I hope you like them. Gazania Concord grapes from a friend Afternoon light with prism reflections Sunflowers make me feel like summer Irish blessing:   "May the road rise to meet you. May the wind be always at your back. May the sun shine warm upon your face, the rains fall soft upon your fields and, until we meet again, may God hold you in the palm of his hand." Cedar Canyon Walk Irrigation water froze on the golf course Fall leaves look like gold coins strewn on the grass. Just a few days before the full Blue Moon with Mars Enhanced color for valley sunset Same sunset with different edited colors Fire pit with enhanced color No editing, just a summer sky before a storm No editing, just natural colors in late afternoon Along Fairway Drive Paraglider at sunset Happy that the Cedar City Arts Council could help Cami Dailey with funds to make this stained glass window of agate and glass.
